Our Motivation

InBOL’s motivation stems from the “One Health Mission” which is an integrative concept uniting several sectors and their strength to look into human health problems, biodiversity, ecological changes, and production holistically to address the forthcoming challenges such as disease outbreaks, depletion of bioresources, sporadic and familial disorders stemming from gene-environment interactions etc. The implications of this concept are huge for India. With a diverse landscape, wildlife populations, ethnic groups and biodiversity a workflow is required in the government-private-NGO-public sectors to bring their strengths to ensure peaceful cohabitation with the environment. The Prime Minister's Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC) in its 21st meeting, approved to set up a National One Health Mission
